Kingcora likely to cause an upset in CarterDawes Financial Planners 10th Anniversary Handicap Hurdle
Kingcora will be looking for a surprise victory in the CarterDawes Financial Planners 10th Anniversary Handicap Hurdle (Grass Roots Jumps Series) at Exeter in England on Thursday, December 20, 2012.
He is not expected to be competitive against some very good runners, but it will not be a good idea to rule him out completely. The conditions will suit him today, so there is an outside chance for him to finish at the top of the table.
The young challenger from France does not have a lot of experience, but that will not bother him much, as he been in such situations before as well. He likes running over hurdles, as his record in this format has not been that bad.
However, his competitors will not make life easy for him in the class-3 contest, which is scheduled to kick off at 12:50 GMT. They have all got a decent pedigree and have learnt the tricks from renowned trainers.
Therefore, things will be quite interesting today. The successful stallion will be awarded a cash prize of £4,549 in the end, so everyone will push extremely hard.
The organisers will be worried about the track conditions though, as there has been a lot of rain at Exeter overnight. Due to this, the ground has become soft, which will test the ability of the participants to the limit.
However, there is plenty of time before the start of action, so everyone will be hoping for an improvement in the situation.
No matter what the track conditions will be, Landscape will be a tough nut to crack in the race, as he is in pretty decent shape right now. Therefore, he has been given the highest odds for a victory.
The Paul Nicholls’ trainee has appeared in several hurdles, winning one of them whereas secured the third spot on the same number of times. There was only one occasion, where he failed to make it to the top-three.
Coming back to Kingcora, he likes running on a wet ground, so it will be difficult to ignore him today. He has only raced over hurdles in his career until now and his performances in this format have been really impressive.
The Venetia Williams’ trainee failed to make a strong impression in his most recent race under Aidan Coleman, but will be looking to turn the tables this time in the company of the same jockey.
