Kingdom, Phylum... blah blah blah?

If two organisms are in the same family, will they be in the same genus?

I think that they will because two organismas can still have something in common even if they were in the same family, but Im not really sure. Any help please =]

  1. If you're in the same family, that means you are in the same kingdom phylum class and order because those top categories are more general.

    If you are in the same family, that doesn't mean you are in the same genus. I think monkeys and humans are in the same family but not same genus, not sure.

    But if you are in the same genus, you are definitely in the same family. For example, all humans are Homo sapiens. They are also in the same kingdom, phylum, class, order, and family.
