Kings XI Punjab plan to file appeal against termination of IPL contract
After Shilpa Sheti’s Rajasthan Royals, another IPL franchise Kings XI http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 is also planning to visit court to argue BCCI's decision to terminate their IPL contracts.
The glamorous bollywood actress and co-owner of Kings XI Punjab, Preity Zinta, today confirmed the fact that KXIP will soon seek justice in court.
"Yes, yes, we will be going to court", Preity told a local television channel.
On 10th of October, the Board of Control of Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 (BCCI), taking a unanimous decision, had terminated the franchise agreements of Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) citing alleged violation of the franchise
pact by both of them. The KXIP management had earlier termed the decision of BCCI to terminate franchises questioning their ownership pattern as "unfair".
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals had already filed appeal with the Bombay High Court against the decision to terminate its contract. The petition was filed earlier this week and the hearing will be carried out after Diwali vacation.
The case was listed for hearing on Saturday, 30th October but yesterday both the parties requested for stay beyond Diwali vacation. This was revealed by Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals' spokesperson today. So
the petition of Rajasthan Royals against board’s decision to cancel its IPL contract will now come up after Diwali.
“The case was listed for hearing before the Bombay high court on Friday, but on Thursday, both the parties sought adjournment beyond Diwali vacation,” spokesperson of the franchise said.
Shilpa Sheti’s franchise has sought a stay from the Bombay High Court to the termination of the contract. The new date for the hearing of case is 15th of November.
Both the Actresses Shilpa Shetty and Preity Zinta had earlier used the micro-blogging internet website Twitter to protest against the decision of the BCCI.
