Kingsmill Championship: Paula Creamer shoots 71 in final round to share first position with Jiyai Shin

American Paula Creamer, who got off to a stellar start at the Kingsmill Championship, kept her momentum going in the fourth round of the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) tournament as she shot a
71 to tie for the first position along with South Korean Jiyai Shin.
Jiyai Shin and Creamer both posted an overall score of 268 each, moving into sudden death playoff.
Creamer kicked off the final round of Kingsmill at Williamsburg, Virginia, with heaps of confidence and gave a tough time to her nearest rivals — especially Shin.
Thanks to her solid performance in the first three rounds that saw her card 65 67 and 65 respectively, Creamer remained in contention till the final moment of the fourth round, not giving much room to other
contenders.
However, Shin hampered her from inflicting a defeat on the rest of the players in the roster. Creamer was aware of the possible threat from Shin, but the South Korean star was quick to regain her composure.
Shin posted a 69 on Sunday, which helped her rise to a tie for the first position on the leaderboard.
Commentators said that Creamer could have done much better on Sunday, but she made a couple of mistakes on the front and back nine. Starting the round with full focus, the American golfer drained her first
birdie on the difficult par-3 second hole.
She parred the third hole and then impressed the spectators once again as she carded her second birdie on the fourth hole. Although pumped up due to a fine start, the 26-year-old star could not keep a grip
on her strokes on fairways and the greens, and ended up registering a double bogey on the sixth hole.
On the back nine, Creamer’s performance remained almost the same as she posted two bogeys and two birdies.
Commentators said that the American prodigy looked stunning in the third round where she recorded a flawless 65. She avoided making any bogey and shot six birdies.
“Just hitting it really solid, so I'm able to go at a lot of these flagsticks and giving myself within 10 feet on a lot of holes. You're not going to make all of them but you'll make most, especially with
the confidence that I have right now in my putting,” Creamer said.
