Kip Wells still wants to pitch in 2013 Major League Baseball season – MLB Update
Starting pitcher Kip Wells is showing signs to resume his Major League career after relatively short break. He has been in the league for quite sometimes now but lately took a break due to his ½ year old son’s potential heart surgery.
Now reports are coming in the media that the couple of Major League franchises are showing interest to sign him for a long contract. Sources are telling in the media that the New York Mets is the foremost interested franchise in Kip Wells.
Wells currently holds a career 4.71 ERA along with 69-103 win loss and 963 strikeouts which itself is a great record for an eleven year experienced Major Leaguer. Experts believe that if Mets do sign Wells that will be certainly a very good factor for them.
On the other hand, the Mets also want to sign Wells as they recently lost their star pitcher R.A. Dickey. Dickey was exceptional with the Mets as he sowed consistent results throughout the last season. He achieved good numbers and proved one of the best pitchers of 2012 Major League Baseball season.
“Growing up, you just want to compete, and then once you have the weaponry to compete, you want to be really good, and then when you’re really good, you want to be supernaturally good, For me, there’s been this steady metamorphosis from just surviving, to being a craftsman, and then, ultimately, the hope is to be an artist in what you do,” Dickey said after winning his 20th game in September.
“Who doesn’t want a Cy Young Award? What kid didn’t grow up wanting to be the best? I’m no different. I want to be the best. I’ve always wanted to be the best,” R.A. Dickey said in detail after his start this season.
Now without Dickey, the Mets certainly want to add some more fire power in their roster. This is also an interesting situation as along with Mets, some other Major League franchise also interested in Kip Wells. However it is up-to Wells and his agent that where they want to play in the future.
