Kirk Shepherd ready to make way to the top in darts
The karate kid of darts and a rather forgotten player of the game Kirk Shepherd has once again decided to sharpen his skills in darts.
His vigour for enhancing his skills in the game has started to take a new turn after failing to qualify for the 2012 World Championship.
It was one of those tournaments that can undoubtedly be referred to as the turning point of his life. He was able to make his place in the final of the event as a 750/1.
However, it has been four since that incident took place and his current position at the PDC Order of Merit is 55.
Hence, there remains less doubt that he will have to work to the fullest of his potential in order to once again reinstate his credibility in the mainstream of the game.
His father, Keith, has complete confidence in his son, as he believes that he has all the mandatory components required in the formation of an exceptional darts player.
When Kirk stands on the oche now, he will just not be battling to surge his world ranking, he will also be facing the responsibility of defending the prize money of £22,300 that he has earned from the game so far.
Speaking to Isle of Thanet Gazette, "Kirk's still on the PDC circuit, he's playing quite well as it goes. He won a couple of tournaments in Birmingham the other weekend".
He further added that the star and veteran darts player Eric Bristow won five world titles in darts, but the competition in the game has reached unprecedented levels today.
It is therefore more or less necessary for Kirk to make a difference in darts with the help of his skills. "He's only 25, which is very young for a dart player".
It is important to mention here that Kirk has been able to make his mark in the game with the help of winning games against players like Terry Jenkins, Peter Manley and Wayne Mardle at the time of making his way in the World Championship of 2008.
He, however, had to depart from the event after facing defeat at the hands of John Part 7-2.
It is expected that with the entry of Kirk back in the game of darts, he will definitely pose a threat to the dominion status of current champions.
