Kirk mclean was under ratted?

the guy was great. he played in the wrong era of hockey.

McLean was a canuck and always was. On his stint on other teams, well, it was all forgettable.

He is on the same level as Sean Burke, Bob Essenssa, goalies who exceled on a different time when save percentage was not the most important requisite from a goaltender. And I think he's underated, specially because he was very clutch on playoffs.

Don't know what under-ratted means. If you meant under-rated then I would have to say yes he was.

I agree 100%, McLean was underated. In his good years he was one of the best and carried the Cannucks and in his late years he was a solid goalkeeper stuck behind another great goalie in New York. McLean always played great hockey under the radar much like  Legace. Heck, I won the cup with McLean in NHL 2000 right have I traded Richter mid-season... LOL. Great goalie who went unapprechiated, much like Jeff Hackett, who always played for bad teams and then when he finally reached a good one (2004 Flyers), he got a career ending vertigo problem.

yes he was carried the canucks for many seasons , detroit offered paul coffey , and one other player in trade . coffey was still fantastic . vancouver turned this trade down . then lost him . simular to the epic cam neeley give away . also was heavily involved in the vancouver special olynpics , along with anoyher give aways , tiger williams and trevor linden . these 3 founded a hospice for children called canuck house , as part of thier civic duty , all three still live vancouver . and will not leave , thank you .
