Question:

Kirsch loudspeakers scam?

My brother purchased a set of 4 speakers but can't access the 'website'. Upon further investigation, there are some comments deriding the $2400 list price and the quality of the product. It's a K3, 5.1 model home cinema. Any comments? He hasn't unboxed it yet. Thanks. WG

  1. Since you don't include a link in your question I can only guess, but my guess is that these obviously second rate speakers are trying to play on the Klipsch speaker name. Klipsch speakers are pretty good. I did find a web site for Kirsch speakers at an outrageous price for a wimpy 8" sub-woofer and matching satellites. The sub in question only goes down to 30 Hz and it is priced at $2400!!! My $300 12" sub goes down to 26 Hz, true sub-woofer frequencies. My advice: tell your brother to take them back, get his money back, and get some name brand components.

  2. A quick search shows that they seem to be a typical eBay speaker brand.

Their website is up and running at www.kirschloudspeakers.com .  I'm sure their real value / cost is not $2495, but I have to say that if your brother dove head-on into a big purchase of that sort of dollars without researching them a bit, it is his own fault.  If he bought them off ebay, and paid $500 or something for an item supposedly worth $2495 new, weren't alarm bells ringing already?!

But that aside, don't bag them until you listen.  I can almost guarantee you will love the sound, most of these cheap ebay speakers do actually sound quite good.. (MOST).  Get him to open them up and try them.  I'm sure he didn't pay $2500 for them so why care about whether they are actually worth that?

  3. if your brother bought them off  some guy in a van or truck or what ever.. then im sorry he got scammed. i know cause it happened to me. My scammers were selling a Palermo home theatre. they said it was worth 2495.00. They showed me the magazine, the invoice. They told me that they were over bid and they recieved too many of the products. They went by the names mike and dave. the guy even had a social security card that had the name mike rogers. they said that they didnt want to turn the speakers over to the boss cuz hes just gonna go and sell them and make money off  of them. they (mike and dave) said that they would rather make some money off of them cause theyare doing all the work. so they asked for $200.00. they got the money and i never heard from them again. He even gave me a number to reach him at to take him out for some beers. Everything was very legit and i still got scammed. i had a feeling it was a scam or they were stolen or maybe these guys were undercover. I DONT KNOW!!!!All i know it that they got away with $200.00 and i got stuck with cheap speakers. ill probably still use them in my daughters room, but ill never put them in my livingroom.  Oh almost forgot. I dont feel too bad about this whole thing now cause today i caught some guys trying to sell this man some of those kirsch speakers. I told the man the story, that it was a scam. One of the guys tried to make me look like the stupid one. He was acting childish and making faces. It was ridiculous. I told him he was an idiot. He became soo Irrate that he called me a F*&^in- B*^&h. you fill in the blanks. I guess i am cause i called his game...and im proud. I didnt get my money back but i think this feels better than getting my money back. We are military. We get paid if we work or not. Now that guy has to actually work some more to get his check....So dotn feel bad. stuff happens and we move on. Take care and we ALL learn from our mistakes.
