Maple Oak Cherry Hickory Alder Birch or ??

Is the stain

Light Medium Dark Distressed Ivory White ???

How About Counter Top Preference too with your choice?

I am remodeling an entire house. I love interior decorating I do it for fun and alwasy buy and fix up houses and sell after a couple years. I am not hiring anyone its too enjoyable for me. Just seeing what you'd like to share. I am going for a baroque scrolling type decor for adjoining Family room which you can see from Kitchen. I am excited but overwhelmed with decisions. Would love to hear what others chose for themselves. Thanks.

  1. my color is pink

  2. Cherry cabinets are definitely my favorite, because of the richness they have.  Granite counter tops in a darker color would also be on the top of my list for a dream kitchen.  Good luck on your remodeling!  It does sound like fun!

  3. My ideal kitchen would be in the Tuscan 'style'.  I toss between warm ivory and deep mahagony.  Black iron for the hardware.  Country style sink in brushed stainless.  High goose neck faucet with a single handle.  Tile back splash behind the sink/counter area.  Brushed steel behind the stove.  Fridge to be faux covered to match the cabinets.  Counters to be a natural stone look, Dupont has nice products for this.

Floors would be wood or tile only.

I don't like microwaves that are above the stove or below the counter.  When I 'nuke things the containers usually get hot and I wouldn't want to risk dropping it on my head or the floor.  One that is "garaged" on a counter to allow for lateral movement is best.

Thanks for the reason to dream - one day I'll get it!!

Good Luck!  I'm currently teaching my 4 year old that girls who use power tools are cool !!!  I'm right there with you on the do it yourself boost.

  4. I picked the color of my current cabinets a medium stained oak.  I don't care for the light/bare wood look, and really dislike the painted wood.

I thought I would like the floor tiles.  They look nice enough, but without basements where I live, they are too cold in the winter.  I have actually covered them with laminate flooring.  A shade darker than my cabinets, & I love it. If you do tile anywhere, install the under floor heating. That is the only way I would ever consider it again.

What kind of baroque decor are you doing?  I did a search on it and had all kinds of options, french baroque, italian, modern, english, and spanish baroque decor.  Wish I could do this, it sounds like so much fun, lots of work, but fun.

  5. Hickory, ivory, slate and marble.
