  1. Well, if you want an exact match (especially if you want any plumbing or electrical like a sink or outlets in/on it) then you'd have to build it (or hire a contractor to do so). The picture you had us refer to was installed, probably, when the other cabinetry and counters were installed. If you had the original cabinetry and counters installed (especially if you did this recently) you may be able to use the same materials and same contractor to install the island.

If you would just like extra counter space, you may not have an exact match, but you can probably find a "cart" (i.e. no plumbing or electrical work in it, just extra counter space or storage). Here's one I found quickly searching. http://furniturefromhome.com/products/ki... It doesn't have the jade green top, but if you wanted to go at least semi-DIY, you could put such a top on it. I would suggest finding something used from a consignment shop or even craigslist for something like that. I don't know the size of your kitchen area you want the island, or the style of your kitchen (other than wood and counter tops), so I'm limited with my imagination. You may want to search around and see what you can find.

And as far as chairs, again, I'm not sure about your space or style. But, as a start, perhaps a cherry wood barstool with a back. Although, the movable island mentioned above is only 3 ft high, so a typical bar stool would hover a bit high for it. This style of barstool, only in a matching wood/color, could be an easy enough solution to that. http://furniturefromhome.com/products/fi... So, if you have to go with something as small as what I showed you, you probably won't have the space for chairs. Basically, as far as height, be sure that if you sit at the chair at the island, you don't have to reach up or bend down to reach the island. If you can find jade green upholstering for the seats, that could be nice as well, but that may be over the top for your kitchen. You may just want chairs that are just the cherry wood.

Hope this gave you some ideas at least. :)

  2. I don't know, but one word of advice: look into getting chairs with casters.  I think they don't leave marks and dents on the floor like chairs without casters.
