our kitchen sink has been plugged up for two days now and we were really surprised to find the blockage is linked to both the shower pipes and the kitchen sink pipes.

  1. sounds like your main drain for your house needs to be snaked out. you'll need to have your mom call a plumber

  2. It looks like your going to have to blast. The right way is to snake out the drains but if your a girl cheat. F**k draino buy whats called "Lye" and don't put a teaspoon in like it says. Wear safety glasses and put a good little pile in the drain and open the window and let is sit for a good while. That should unclog your drains.

  3. liquid plummer

  4. call a plummer

  5. First use an auger/snake to loosen up the clog if it's nearby. Then get your outside garden hose, stick it in the sink, get a small rag to plug up the remaining space around the hose really really good, then tell someone to put it on full blast and hope for a miracle. Hopefully the pressure is good enough.  Some houses are different than others.  Also the size of the hose matters.  Remember to yell Stop!  Some mickey mouse trick I heard from a plumber one time.  It might help.  It might not.  Make sure you plug it up real good, or else you'll have a wet...ter bathroom.  Make sure to use cell phones if sink is far from the start of the hose.  Maybe put on speaker...and a good 10 feet away from sink.  Good luck.  Let me know how it went.

  6. how about some DRAIN CLEANER....IN BOTH pipes...

  7. well im guessing your shower is upstairs and the sink is below. all the pipes are connected. you will need to run a snake thru your kitchen sink to clear the line.

  8. get 2 plungers and plunge both sides at the same time.

  9. wowie! time to call a plumber there is no at home remedies for this one. yikes!

  10. To clear a drain you can remove standing water from the sink, poor one part salt (1/2 cup should do it), one part borax down the drain.  Use rubber gloves to encourage the powders down the drain.  Then poor about the same amount of white vinegar down.  It will go to work!  Have a kettle of boiled water on hand and after a minute poor the boiling water down the drain.  It works!

Although I'm not sure how much better it is... I believe it's a little less toxic to the water system then store bought chemical pipe cleaners.  Good luck!

  11. Let me guess, kitchen sink is downstairs and shower is upstairs? It is common for several smaller waste lines to connect together before entering the larger sewer line. Sounds like you need to snake the drain from under the kitchen sink or call a plumber to do it for you. Good luck

  12. if you don't have drain cleaner then pour a half box of baking soda down each drain. Then pour about a cup down each drain. This will cause a reaction and fizzzz but should clear the drains. If it still clogged, you will need to buy a "snake" or call a plumber
