why one or the other? please let me know the pros/cons. Also, I don't understand why for some of the double bowls, one side is very small/narrow, what purpose can that possibly serve?

  1. Having two bowls allows you to wash dishes in one and rinse them in the other.  Or you can wash dishes and rinse veggies in the other (that's the purpose of those small, shallow basins). However, a single bowl is generally more suited to smaller kitchens. And if you really want versatility, how about a 3-bowl sink? They are becoming more common in large kitchens. Ones I've seen have two large basins separated by a small, shallow basin.

  2. 1 with a garbage disposal

    1 with out

  3. I think the one big bowl is good.  You can wash all your dishes and still have a big sink.

  4. Double sinks are better because it allows for more multitasking, which is important when cooking. There are many styles and sizes, even the pan depth. The double sink with the extra "jog" on one side is for frying pan handles. I recommend stainless steel over white, it cleans better.
