KitchenAid Mixer problem

Question

I bought a kitchenaid mixer in the us. i brought it over to Israel and tried to get it working using a converter from 220 volts to 110. The mixer burned out when i tried to use it.???????????????????????????????

The motor didn't like the 50Hz AC voltage available there.  The transformer you bought changes the voltage form 220 to 110 but it does nothing for the frequency.

in the US we use 60 cycles...in your country they probably use a differant frequency for there electricity...some use 50 cycles down to 25 cycles...the voltage should have been 110 in Israel also...i believe
