Kitchenaid dishwasher KUDS02SRSS2 start light...

Question

My dishwasher cycle buttons/lights all seem to work normally, then I press start and the start button blinks continually but nothing happens. But all the buttons still behave the same way even with the door open or closed. They stay lit even during this action. I'm wondering what part I may need. I'm hoping it's something simply like the door switch. I've opened up to look at this but see no obvious damage. I'm not sure what the blinking is telling me but it may be that it thinks the door was opened during a cycle and it's wanting me to open, then re-close the door to restart itself? This is why I think it may be the door switch stuck in one position? Kitchenaid was no help at all with this blinking. I'm hoping you can help me. I am not familiar with this dishwasher because I bought it as is in hopes I could fix it...I was thinking it was a "dry stall" issue because it was left out from a reno for a few months.
