  1. Here is a small list of Flea and Tick control products:

    Frontline Spray, Advantage Spray

    Perfect for all cats.

    Frontline Plus, Advantage (Tablet Form)

    Perfect for all cats.

    Flea & Tick Dips:

Flea dips are not a good choice for cats.

  2. Flea collars definately arent the best solution.

Apart from potentially causing danger to your pet, they can be a danger to your family- plus they aren't as effective in killing fleas as the good quality flea killers.

If the kitten is 10 weeks old it should be large enough for a kitten sized dose of the good stuff- your local vet will sell good quality flea killers that actually work- and will help prevent fleas for the next month. The good thing about these flea treatments (revolution, frontline, advantage, etc) is that they kill the eggs and everything and everywhere your cat goes it will kill the fleas.

It costs a little extra money- but you end up saving because you dont have to constantly flea bomb the house and waste money on the cheaper products that dont work.

  3. Firstly, take the flea collars off now (or at least call a vet to see if it is safe)!  My vet told me the only safe solution for kittens is a flea medication called "Revolution".  The other option is to get a flea brush which is just really thin prongs and brush them out.  I just adopted kittens that were born wild and covered with fleas.  We spent a long time combing the fleas out but they are now completely flea free with no medication needed.  Good luck!

  4. You really do need to remove the flea collars.  They can be very harmful especially for kittens.  Advantage, in my opinion, is the best flea treatment for cats.  It will kill all the fleas very fast.  You can purchase it from Vets, some pet stores, and on the internet: http://www.1800petmeds.com/Advantage-pro...  Make sure you buy the one for kittens.  It can be used on kittens that are 8 weeks and older.  You should vacuum your house constantly.  If you notice little rice looking things coming out of the kitten's butt then they have worms that are obtained by digesting an infected flea....if this happens you will need to take a fecal sample to the vet and they will give you a medication to get rid of these worms.......over the counter medications do not work on these types of worms.  Good luck :)
