  1. i LOVE KITESURFING!!! definately get lessons. It depends how big a person you are on how big your kite should be. Im only a small person so i would get a 7 or 8m^2 kite but you could get bigger if you want. Yeh use your wakeboard! btw.... it could cost around 2000 bucks (thts aussie dollars btw) 2 get all the gear like kite, board, pump, bar etc.

its a good sport and youd probs be best to do it on a beach rather than a river

  2. Hi!

Kite surfing is a dangerous sport so please be careful. I recommend you visit the IKO website which is the International Kite boarding Organization. They have a list of kite surfing school which can be found here:

    http://www.ikointl.com/iko-centers-water...

Try and find one that is close to you and book yourself on to the course.

The size of kite depends on the wind strength and your skills. Once you get in to the sport you will probably end up with 2 or 3 different sizes of kite for the different wind speeds. You may also end up with difference sizes of board, the larger the board the lower the wind speed you can usually get going in since the board floats more.

A wake board may not have the correct stance for kite surfing and it may not work as well as a dedicated kite surf board.

The control is only as good as the person flying the kite. The kite will not control you, if this happens then your aiming at hurting yourself.

It's never recommended that you kite surf on your own, always have someone with you that can help if anything goes wrong.

Get lessons, its the safest move and you will learn how to control the kite much quicker! Well worth the money!

  3. Basically kites are about the same size, the area you need should be quite large, just a river isn't big enough, especially if there are a lot of trees, this could mess up you thrill, especially if the kite gets caught in one of those trees, and these kites are not cheap. As for the board, yes go ahead and use that wake board. that is just right for kites.
