Kitten and fleas?!!!?

i brought my new kitten home yesterday and discovered he is crawlin with fleas!! i gave him a tablet to kill them but it seems like the fleas are goin mental and attacking him real bad he cant stay still!! i have a spray for the house aswell do i use it now or wait till the fleas on him are all dead? is it normal for the fleas to go crazy after treatment! thanx

You need to spray the house as soon as possible. The fleas will live in the carpets, furniture etc and go to that cat or human to feed as well as living on the animal. Give him a flea bath with cat flea soap. They have very sensative skin and using other types of soap might irritate them. Also try usin a frontline type product where you put the medicine right on the cats coat. I had to wash my cat a few times and flea bomb my apt before she was finally flea free. Whenever I get a new animal now the first thing I do when I walk in the door is a flea bath.

First of all, what treatment did you use? The stray I recently got was INFESTED. We tried everything... flea baths, flea collars, you name it. Let me tell you, none of the store brands worked for me :(. I had to go to a vet and get ADVANTAGE Flea and Tick killer for kittens and cats. It's just applied on the neck and it works.

Today I discovered that although my kittens fleas are gone and i've had her taken to the vet and checked, she has a tapeworm and I have to pick up a pill from the vet today to treat it ($11). There is a high chance that your cat will have tapeworms from ingesting the fleas it had on it. I would suggest going to a vet, really. They can help!

The fleas are probably reacting to the pesticide and it's normal for them to be biting and acting up right now. This happened with my kitty (even though the fleas didn't die with the store brand stuff). If your cat appears to be lethargic or acting very strange wash the stuff off immediately. A lot of store brand stuff can cause allergic reactions in cats.

Sorry I didn't realize you gave it a tablet, hehe. Hmmm... well if your cat gets any worse just call a vet I suppose. It might be working and the fleas are just going crazy knowing they are dying! (hopefully) UGH I HATE FLEAS!

wash him in dawn dish detergent then take a flea comb and comb out the fleas and place them in a cup of rubbing alcohol.
