Kitten is under the weather?

i have a six to eight month old kitty who is typically incredibly active, but a day ago she became weak and sick looking, though still eating and attempting to play at times, she is weak and lazy as she seems to isolate from the other kitty in the house. Im worried but wonder if this is something i need to act on right away or give her some time to get better on her own?

  1. Cats often get sick quite quickly, so I would take these warnings as a sign to get her checked at the vets.

Best of luck to you and her.

  2. I would pop her along to your vet. The fact that you have noticed she doesnt seem right there is probably something wrong ! No one knows their cat like its owner

  3. Did you throw her down on the hard concrete? I think that can often be the cause.  Don't do that!

If she starts to spasm or convulse that could mean she is about to die.  Also they will start to moan and find a place to die (like in a tub or under your deck).

  4. Poor little dumplin' needs to have a checkup with the vet asap.  Hope it feels better real soon.  Don't take too long once you see something very drastic happens.

  5. It's probably nothing.  Usually if a cat is still eating it's fine.

    Other things to consider...

Could something have changed in her environment?

She could be bored, or losing her "kittenness"...

She could be in her first heat or nearing it...

Is she still drinking?  (I know, sometimes it's hard to tell...)

    Are her gums still pink?

I'd just watch her closely for a day or two more.  Don't worry too much, cats have moods.
