Kitten proofing my home?

How do I kitten proof my home? I currently have a 4 year old kitty who's never had any problems but I'm concerned a kitten may be a different story...

- My plants are pet safe plants :)

  1. I'd put away anything that's breakable (at least in the short term). Plus, if you have any cords (from window blinds or electronics), I'd recommend trying to conceal them or putting them out of reach (but not dangling). If you don't have a scratching post of some kind already, I'd recommend getting one. Also get a spray bottle that you can fill with water; it's a safe and humane deterrent when kittens/cats get into things they're not suppose to.

And watch where you step once the little one comes home. Kittens don't pay attention to where you're stepping...meaning they get under foot which is bad for you and for them.
