  1. Cat do not establish their sleeping spot at random. You'll notice that your cat sleeps, most of the time, at the same place during a certain period of the day. Those spots are called their "watching towers". Cat establish their territories and watch over it. They patrol their territory even inside a house. The spots where they rests are normally situated where they can watch over it easily. It's normally in height and have a very good view over the room and particularly on the entrance of the room. They also like to rest near a window where they can look at birds and things going on outside.

So will your kitten go in the box....it all depends if it's situation on one or near a watching towers spot. Your cat choose where he wants to sleeps. No card board, as beautifull as it might be will attract him if it's not on the right spot. So if he doesn't go in it, try on moving it from time to time. Leave it there for 2 days.

Remember that the cardboard will become part of your cat's territory. Sometime (often) when there is a new item in his territory, they will like to put their odor on it. So you might be please to see that your cat is going there for the first couple of days or even weeks and then abandonning it. It it happen, just move it somewhere else and chances are he will adopt it again.

    Good luck

  2. i see that in movies, lol,

    so i guess its fine.

  3. It depends, male cats will tend to be more aggresive and tear apart the cardboard, thus diminishing the purpose of making the slumber area. While, on the other hand, female cats will most likely stay there for an extended period of time, usually in the day; but be careful of the corners. The 90 degreee angle of the cardboard [depending upon the type] could be very dangerous for kittens and sometimes female cats, because we all know female cats are so stupid they couldn't chase their tail for but one milkbone.

  4. Cat's are one of THE most relaxed creatures in the world.

They can sleep anywhere, more than likely your kitten will wind up sleeping... well, wherever she plops down.

They're not very particular creatures when it comes to napping.

  5. No, it will be fine for the kitten to sleep in.  But don't expect it to stay there as it gets older.  Cats choose where they want to sleep no matter how nice a bed you make for them.
