Ive tried boundary sprays, bitter sprays, water bottles, cans of coins, noise makers so startle her when shes into something...NOTHING works...any suggestions?....She has TONS of toys and I give her at least 20 min of structure playtime a day....shes still nuts...help!

  1. It is possible that keeping her in the crate is exasperating the problem. Keeping a kitten confined will cause anxiety which may encourage destructive behavior, as well as the excessive need to play. Kitty proof a room and spend some time with her to release some of that energy. 20 minutes is not enough for a kitten or even an older cat. It is possible you were not ready for a kitten though they are so cute and hard to resist. But please do not keep her in a crate.

I have a kitten who was very energenic as well for quite a while. It will get better, but really they use much of the day for play where a much older cat sleeps most of the day

  2. If you have tried everything then the last resort would be to take her to the vet. They can prescribe a mild sedative to calm her down. If given in the right dose it won't make her a zombie, it will just make living with her  a little easier.

  3. feliwaycat.com  - Feliway is natural cat hormone to calm cat down.  Your kitten will play all the time while she's a baby - it's a cat's nature.  Don't keep her in a cage, just keep her out of reach of danger (cords, things she will knock over).  If this isn't possible, find a home for her where she will be loved and safe.

Seriously, please - ditch the cage.

  4. kittens are really playful because they keep on growing and growing but if the cat is already 1 yr. old or more you should see that the cat is always lazy and plays rarely. my cat is 8 months old likes to bite anything strings, plastics, straws, etc. and likes to jump on our sofa and bed sometimes she jumps on the electric fan and pulls the string. in order to make things out buy a catnip toy for your cat.

  5. She needs more play time and activity.  If you can't give her that, then crate her when you can't watch her.  Kittens have lots of energy thats all there is to it.
