Question:

Kitten vomits after every meal. Help...?

my 4 months old kitten always chokes and vomits after eating. at first i thought it's because she can't digest dry food or solid food like boiled chicken, so i crushed the dry food and mix it with water so it has porridge-like texture. but still, she chokes and vomits after every meal.

and i just noticed, she also vomits after drinking milk (her milk is lactose-free).

what happens to my kitten? is it possible that she has some disease or anything? i mean, i never heard of such thing before. i'm so worried. she hardly gets food intake because of her vomiting.

  1. you really need to take your kitten to the vet if you not do it soon she will probably die! this is very serious!!

  2. hey there could it be possible you are feeding her to much and she cant handel to much at once or  tell me something. when she walks dose she look really thin,? then when you pick her up is her tummy really round and tight? if so my dear she has a belly full of worms. go to you local vet and get a kitten worme tablet or paste or you can get them from your local supermaket. you have to worm cats and kitttens every 3 months if that dosent help i would suggest taking her to a vet for a chek up. ok i hope i have helped darl. tegan

  3. take her to a vet! that can't be very good!!

  4. Your kitten needs to see a vet immediately.  If you are concerned about payment, most vets will work out a payment plan.

    Good Luck!

  5. I had this problem with my kitten and he had tapeworms and might have died if I had waited another day to take him to a vet. Worms are easy to fix but you have to get her to a vet ASAP or she probably will die.

  6. Has she been dewormed- sometimes they can get roundworms that are in there stomach can be bad enough that they make cats throw up-

    Take her to the vet.

  7. This is an issue for a vet. Please take her asap.

  8. This is a serious cause for concern if she can't keep food down. I'd advise taking her to the vet to be checked out.

Also, I'd advise switching to wet food as it's healthier for cats. The reason is, in the wild, cats normally get most of their water content directly from their prey items and drink very little. Domestic cats are no different, and because of the fact that they are designed to take in water with their meal, they have a very low thirst drive. Cats often just don't drink enough. This leads to urinary tract infections and crystals. The bit about dry food being better for teeth is a myth and has not been proven in the least. Canned/wet food is better because it more closely mimics the cat's natural diet. More on why canned food is best:

  9. Yes, take the cat to vet. It could be a food allergy or a bigger problem.

  10. It is possible that the kitten is eating and drinking to fast, however this is also signs of a serious problem.  Call a vet and explain the symptoms as clear as you can.  They will be able to tell you wheither you need to bring her/him in or not. If money is the issue I agree with one of my fellow answerers... Vets can work out a payment plan.  I know that no one thinks that they can afford a vet bill but when my kitten was sick and we took her to the vet we worked out a plan where we only had to pay about 10 dollars a week.  I started making my coffee at home instead of buying it at Dunkin Donuts every morning and was able to pay a little more then 10 dollars every week.  It was paid off in no time and totaly worth it for my happy healthy kitten.
