i saw the p**p coming out of his butt while he was in the litter box, but when i went up to the box to scoop it out, nothing was there, so then i wanted to check him, because he's 3 months, I still wipe him off with baby wipes if he doesnt clean himself good enough, and that when i caught him dragging his butt across the floor, with the p**p still attached to his butt. Why didnt he finish in the box? He never did that before? Could something make kittens p**p too hard for them to push everything out?

  1. I dont really know, but im pretty sure you should bring him to the vet

  2. im not sure about your kitten, but the ones i had that rubbed there butt on the floor or grass as they walked had worms. as he grows older, he'll likely be cleaning himself more often and the p**p wouldnt be as much as a problem.

  3. If you're feeding him a proper kitten diet, the p**p shouldn't be so hard he has to strain to get it out.   Sometimes, with long-haired cats, the p**p does accidentally get stuck to the fur, but a kitten's fur usually isn't that long yet.

He could have tapeworms (or other form of worm).  If you remove the p**p from him, or his box, take a pair of latex gloves, or put your hand in a plastic baggie, and squish open the poo to see if you can see the worms in the poo itself.

If he continues to do this for a number of days, definitely take him to the vet.

  4. my cats do this when the have worms. its gross but unless its just a 1x thing i would take a sample of poo for analyzing.  but sometimes if it is worms you will be able to see them on the outside of his rear. there are several kinds of worms, some are small, some are long, but  it is treated with medicine, usually a pill. good luck

  5. But Scooting can be an indicator of worms or a clogged anal gland...better be safe than sorry and take your cat to the vet.

  6. Your kitten has worms.

  7. please do not use baby wipes on your kitten,  the perfume in the wipes is not good for the cat.  he will clean himself off.

he needs alone time to finish in the box.

he may be constipated if this continues bring him in to the vet.
