Question:

Kittens still have bloody diarreah but Vet still finds nothing in exam

I have 2 kittens who have diarreah with bright red blood in it. I have taken their stool to be examined by the vet twice now.and they still find nothing. It started out in 1 kitten...now the other kitten has it...and NOW my dog has had diarreah for 2 days. I took ALL 3 to the Vet this morning and their fecal floats were negative and also they had no coccidia or gihardia (sorry about the spelling.)

Can anyone please tell me anything else that it could be? This is their 3rd time to the vet and it is not cheap and they keep finding nothing. I am just so frustrated and worried for my pets!

  1. Try going to a different vet or a better vet (more experienced). Sounds like your vet is trying but, not helping much. A second opinion is needed. Even if they can't find anything it has to be something because pets just don't bleed and have diarrhea for nothing. He should have at least given them something to stop or help the diarrhea regardless if the cause is known or not. I would defiantly go to another vet. There are vets who just don't have the knowledge or experience. Good luck.
