Kitty Hawk Beach Shark Question?

I am traveling to Kitty Hawk Beach, North Carolina, I was wondering if I should be weary of any shark species that are in the area? Coastal as well as deeper water sharks

  1. I have never personally seen a shark in the outer banks.  They're out there though, but its nowhere near as bad as Florida.  Mostly small inshore species although about 7 years ago there was a fatality father down in Avon from what I believe was a tiger shark.  You can always look up shark attack statistics in the International Shark Attack Files.

  3. do think about sharks cuz that will just make you stop haveing fun surfing and werring about sharks.

    so just go out and have fun and there will be no sharks

  4. well it doesn't matter if there are shark sitings there or not.

    There is always the possibility of a shark being there.

    I live in Jupiter, Fl, and I've been nipped by 2 sharks in my own surf spot. Nothing major, but still, there is always that possibility.

    bethany Hamilton (shark attack survivor) was attacked in a spot that had a clean record of no shark sightings.
