Kitty made a break for it - help!?

My indoor only neutered cat got out of my apartment because i was carrying stuff in and instead of just peeking out, he made a dash out the door, down the stairs, and out the door that was propped open. He ran across the street to where there is a creek and some woods, and I can't find him. He got out yesterday, and last night we saw two different black cats, one for sure not him and another that could have been. How will he know how to get home if I live in second floor apartment? Also, I am moving in a week and two days! His sister is so lonely and sad, meowing all the time :( How can I get him back? he isn't answering to my calls! I called the local spca's, and put up signs. I've tried some tuna, and using the eye shine to find potential kitties!

Try some have a heart traps and put tuna or his favorite food in them, they just close the cat in the cage so theres no harm done, its worth a try. Hope you find him.

ddc is right, a have a hart trap is the best suggestion. thankfully your cat is spayed so at least he won't go to far and he can't impregnate any females while out on his adventure! if he doesn't come back by the time you move, let the new people know what happened and they can help out as well and call you when he comes back!
