Kiwis impressed with All Blacks' successful run in Rugby Union World Cup
While talking to reporters on Wednesday, October 26, New Zealand’s coach for the National Rugby League (NRL), Stephen Kearney, said that he wants to mirror All-Blacks performance in the Rugby World Cup.
Kiwis will be seen clashing against Australia, New Zealand and the English side in the fast-approaching Gillette Four Nations which will kick-off for the Kiwis on Friday when this side will meet Australia on Friday.
Kiwis will marching into the Four Nations as the title holders of last year's event for which they are looking up to the performance of All-Blacks in Rugby Union, where they had clinched an impressive 8-7 win over the French side in Auckland, to be tagged
this year’s Rugby Union World Cup 2011 winners.
The win had opened celebrations across the country which pacified a otherwise wounded country with the very recent Christchurch earthquakes and Pike River mining disaster. The gloomy New Zealanders found a reason to cheer up after a very tough year recently,
winning the World Cup after 24 years.
While referring to the recent World Cup winning performance from New Zealand, Kiwis coach, Stephen Kearney said, “I caught a lot of the rugby union game and I'm really pleased for the All Blacks and everybody back home. It's been a a tough year for New Zealand,
with the earthquakes and the mining disasters. It's been a tough old time and there are still parts of the country that are in trouble, so that makes what happened in the union pleasing, because I think a lot of people were quietly wishing New Zealand would
win."
Benji Marshall of Kiwis squad in NRL, is hoping to mirror what Richie McCaw has achieved for New Zealand by lifting the Webb Ellis Trophy this Sunday, which set had set the entire country alight with celebrations.
He acknowledged that what they have accomplished is truly inspirational, which was definitely a lot to achieve under the mounting pressure from the public and the media. It has been speculated by the media reporters that if All Blacks would not have returned
with a Cup, country wide riots would have occured. All Kiwis are looking to achieve the honour of being tagged "back-to-back champions."
