The Werder Bremen sporting director is confident that the club will be able to keep its key players at the end of the season.
The River Islanders have been criticised recently for delaying contract talks with some of their key players. The club has been unable to finalise any deals for the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Clemens-Fritz-c9348 in the past
few months and there has been growing speculation that the trio will leave at the end of the campaign.
Allofs has brushed aside rumours that the club has been slow in offering new deals to some of its key players and claimed that the situation is under control. He admitted that there are players from the youth whose future is still
undecided but insisted that those deal are not the priority for a big club such as Werder Bremen.
"The media coverage about the situation is pure scare tactics. There are several contracts of young players among those 12 deals - players, whose contracts are not a very top priority for a club like Werder Bremen,” he was quoted
as saying in an interview.
The former player stated that only some of the 12 deals for the young players will be finalised but admitted that the side’s top priority is to keep key players at the club beyond this season.
Allofs admitted that his side has already done the homework and are well on track. The chief also denied reports that Pizarro has agreed to sign for Bayern Munich at the end of the season. He added that the player has a future
at the club and has no plans to leave.
“Some of those deals will certainly not be extended, too. In the end, there will be three or four contracts that are of a real importance. But we have done our homework. And we will be able to submit decisions at the right point
in time,” he concluded.
Werder Bremen are currently eighth on the Bundesliga standings table with 40 points from the 28 games played and will next face FC Koln in an away game on Saturday, April 7.
