Klh model 52 audio receiver

Question

My 30+ year old klh model 52 audio receiver seems to have a bad volume control/off-on switch. The loudness range goes from 0 to 10 and in the lower range (0 to 4 or so) I get a lot of static and either the left or right channel but not both. Above 5 or so the static goes away and I get both channels coming through but then the volume is a bit too loud for normal conversation. I have chatted on-line with the folks at klh and I was told that they no longer support that model, they have no parts and no manuels. Do you think you can help?
