The reigning champions’ head coach has insisted that his team have a stern test away to the Bavarian giants, but he is hoping to make it tough for the league toppers on the weekend
Borussia Dortmund team trainer Jurgen Klopp is expecting that the defending champions will cause troubles for league leaders Bayern Munich ahead of their match on Saturday. The BVB will travel to the Allianz Arena and will face
a tough task to secure all three points from the most awaited game of the German League.
The Borussians won the domestic championship last season and the year before that. Nevertheless, after only 14 games this term they trail Der FCB by 11 points going into the weekend clash. This can prove to be a make or break game
for them as they have struggled for form in the Bundesliga.
However, Klopp is confident that his side will give the league favourites a run for their money, as they hold the upper hand over them in recent seasons. The coach claimed that in the last six matches, they won five and only lost
to them in the DFL-Supercup at the start of the campaign.
"We have the possibility to cause Bayern some trouble. We beat them five times in the league but we lost in the Super Cup," he was quoted as saying in an interview.
"We tried to play our game that match, but they were so aggressive and we really felt what it means to play against them this year," he mused.
"Anyway, if we can put all our quality on the pitch, we will see. There are not many clubs in the Bundesliga that are as difficult to play against as us. That is our task,” the former Mainz 05 coach added.
The experienced boss feels that the BVB’s loss in the off-season clash showed that Die Roten have a stronger team this term. He said that Dortmund could not match them as Bayern played really well and did not let them settle down.
Moreover, he added that the Black Yellows will have a good chance of winning if they work hard.
