The Borussia Dortmund coach reveals that he was impressed by Marco Reus’ performances at the 2012 European Championships and backs him to be a success at the club.
The 23-year old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 international agreed to join Borussia Dortmund from Borussia Monchengladbach in the January transfer window. The playmaker is yet to make an appearance for his new club. Reus, who was born in Dortmund, is
the product of Black Yellows’ youth academy, which he left in 2006.
The youngster was a permanent fixture in Lucien Favre’s Monchengladbach side that finished fourth in the Bundesliga last season, to qualify for the UEFA Champions League play-offs.
Reus made a total of 99 league appearances for the Foals, he also boasted an impressive strike rate; in bagging 37 goals. Jurgen Klopp acquired his man for a staggering 17 million Euros, and tied him down for a five-year deal.
The 45-year old reserved special praise for his club’s latest acquisition, the German tactician reckons that the attacker’s performances at the European Championships speak for themselves. He believes that the player’s quality
complements the club’s style of football.  
"Marco's performances stand out beyond doubt. His quality, coupled with our patience, is a good combination. He does not need to score four goals in his first game,” he is quoted as saying in an interview.
Reus’ new coach insists that the move to Dortmund will certainly help aid his development and will help him become a more complete player than he was at Borussia Monchengladbach.
"We want to help him become the player we see in him, who will be better than the one at Monchengladbach," he added.
The coach was quick to take pressure off his new player, he stated that the transfer fees account for nothing; it is the player’s performances that matter. Klopp knows his player is worth every penny his club paid for him.
"In football there is only one principle, and that is not based on transfer fees, but on performances. We have paid €17m for him and he is worth the money,"
Reus’ performances at the European Championships and in the Bundesliga last season suggested what the Black Yellows will be getting. The youngster is more than capable of replacing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shinji-Kagawa-c33364, who joined Manchester United earlier
