The Borussia Dortmund manager is furious after his team were forced to play in sub-zero temperatures at Holstein Kiel.
Jurgen Klopp expressed his anger on the decision by the officials to let the match continue in freezing conditions and admitted that the clash could have been rescheduled for a later date. Kiel played hosts to the Borussians on
Tuesday, February 07, with the visitors winning comfortably by a 4-0 margin. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivan-c17215 Perisic scored goals for the reigning German champions.
As a result, Dortmund made their way into the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal, but their manager expressed his disappointment after playing under unfavourable conditions.
Klopp stated that it was extremely cold in Kiel and the conditions highly unfavourable as the whole pitch was covered in ice. He insisted that the German Football Association should have cancelled the game, keeping in mind the
safety of both the sides.
The manager admitted that he never wanted the match to take place as the situation was not at all ideal for the players to step on to the pitch. He was relieved that no players suffered any injury during the match and wants the
DFB to make sure nothing like this happens in the future.
While talking during the post-match press conference and temperatures of minus 18 Celsius, Klopp further added:
"It was like ice hockey on grass. The pitch was unplayable, but there was pressure from TV not to cancel the game. I was so tense that it was easy to fire up my players as if they were playing in a World Cup final. There was a
great danger the players were going to get hurt."
On the other hand, the tactician hailed Dortmund on becoming the first team to enter the semi-finals of the German Cup. The Black-Yellows will await their opponent in the last four as Bayern Munich, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536,
