Klynch expected to carry on the good form in Beltane Asset Management Handicap
Klynch is expected to continue his good form, by winning the Beltane Asset Management Handicap at Epsom in England on Thursday, July 5, 2012.
The going will be good to soft in the 7 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 19:45 GMT. A total of 12 quality runners will be battling out for victory today, but the best chances appear to be with Klynch, as the soft ground will suit his style of running.
The bookmakers also have a lot of confidence in the abilities of the six-year-old gelding. They have given him a general starting price of 5 to 1, and the punters will also be risking a few bets on him, as they have a chance of winning some easy money from him.
Looking at the experience of the Ruth Carr’s trainee, it is clear that he has the ability to handle pressure situations. He has participated in a total of 67 races, winning just nine of them.
His strike rate is not that impressive, but his recent form is excellent, which going into this race overshadows past failures.
Other than his victories, the seasoned runner has finished as a runner-up on five occasions, whereas he has finished third in as many times as second. He made his debut way back in 2008, and was unable to impress at the start of his career.
Kyllachy’s son, out of Inchcoonan, failed to show his true potential in his first couple of races, but finished as a runner-up in his third race.
He followed that up with an impressive victory at Kempton, which gave him a lot of confidence. He was given the best odds back then and proved the bookies right, bagging the race by five lengths in the end.
There were a few ups and downs for Klynch after that, but he kept banking a reasonable amount of money for his owner.
Importantly, his form in the ongoing season has been very good, and he has won a couple of back-to-back races, recently. If he manages to finish on top of the table today, he will complete a hat-trick of victories.
The favourite runner will be partnered by seasoned jockey, James Sullivan, who has got a poor strike rate, but has won quite a few races.
