So I'm fifteen and my right knee is deteriorating, so I might be getting knee replacement surgery. About how long will it take me to recover, and how long will I be in bed for? Like, after the surgery, how many wil it be until I can go back to school? Will I ned a wheelchair?

  1. Might be? At 15 I think they will wait until the last possible moment. Best of Luck

  2. I am sorry you need to have sugery at such a young age.

You don't need to be in bed very long, in fact, being in bed is bad for you.  You will need to start moving your leg almost immediately.  Weight bearing will take longer.  You will need a wheelchair or crutches until you can do weight bearing.  You should probably get work from school to do at home and online (many schools have online classes for ill students) and plan to be gone around 2-4 weeks is my guess.  Definitely no sooner than 2 weeks, but don't rush it or push it, you must stay healthy and heal up.

    Good luck best wishes
