Knee boarding swimwear?

i heard that if you wear a bikini that your top or bottom might fall off while knee boarding. what if i wore a tankini with shorts? would that be okay? i dont understand what would make knee boarding so feirce that people would recommend wearing a one peice.

if your wearing a life jacket it shouldnt matter. Ive went alot and top only came off oncebc the strings werent tied good.
