Question:

Knee hurts.. again! What can I do to heal it?

I had hurt my knee after doing several squats(~150) but fast and not careful so my knees extended past my toes...

I rested my knees and did not do any workout during the summer till now (around 2 months later) and it completelly stopped hurting. A few days ago my knee started acting up like a small ichy pain. Unfortunatelly i did work it out a bit with a few half squats and the knee started aching again.

Any recommendations? Can it be a permanent? What can have happened?

  1. go to the drugstore and buy a tube of Castivia. rub it on as directed.

  2. Read and apply http://www.helium.com/tm/148271 to fix it.

If you do not fix it yes.

  3. It could be tendonitis.  Potassium supplements will help somewhat with the pain.  The best thing you can do for the actual knee, though, is to do exercises to strengthen the muscles around the kneecap so it doesn't hyperextend quite so easily.  After you work out, put an ice pack (or a bag of frozen peas, which conforms to the area better) on the knee for 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off.  Rest it as much as possible after a work out and elevate it while you are icing.
