  1. Inflammation of the knee usually means fluid buildup, (Water) which will need to be drained. Why it is there could be from an old injury you forgot about months ago. The fluid can be drained two ways, by a prescibed water pill like Lasix or Aldactone or Bumex, or if you can get someone to help you, using moist heat. You lay on the floor, place the leg and foot with the inflamed knee on the cushion of a chair or sofa. Have someone soak a towel with hot water, ring it out then wrap it around your knee. Do this until the skins begins to turn slightly red. Have a second towel handy to quickly replace the first one as it cools. Do this at least two times a day. When resting, which is also good for inflammation, elevate the leg. Wishing you the very best young lady, and good luck.
