Just this year I broke my knee cap. I just got released from physical therapy about a week or two ago. My physical therapist said if I fell on it the wrong way it could re break. Well yesterday we were out walking the dog, he ran out and front of me and got me all tangled up in his chain. He had ran around me 3 times. I fell on the exact same concrete I fell on the first time when it broke. well i am starting to have a little swelling, pain, pain radiating, in my knee again. I am scared i have re broke it or have done something to it what do you all think?

Thanks

  1. I would expect you did not break it again, but you could have damaged the meniscus.

The doctor can probably guess with 80% accuracy what happened without an x-ray or MRI, but I would opt for one of these if the condition persists.

In the meantime, find a practitioner of lymphatic massage who can work on your knee.  After knee surgery last year, a trainer in my gym who is skilled in this worked wonders on my knee.  At first I though she was just a fraud, since she barely seemed to touch the knee.  I expected much harder treatment, but even the next day there was visible improvement.

Lastly, start taking the only pill I would ever recommend:  Glucosamine Chondroitin.  I have three problems (or might I say... HAD three problems):  back, knee, and shoulders.  After taking Glucosamine Chondroitin, everything miraculously got better and better, especially the shoulders.  My shoulders had been in bad shape for almost eight years at that point, so this was definitely not a coincidence; nothing had helped before.

I get these at my local grocery store when they have them on 2 for 1 sale.  I get the triple strength variety.

  2. you should definately go to the doctor or your physical therapist again. It sounds like you did something to it.
