  1. i know people who have had both general and local.

    the risks from the local are less than the general and recovery time quicker. ( from anaesthetic point of view not surgical).

    yes you can opt for which you want although they will advise you with the local (epidural).

    you will not see or feel anything with the local and not have the groggy feeling from that anaesthetic


  2. When my mum and nan had their knee replacements they were put under general (put to sleep for a couple of hours) anasthetic.
