  1. O'Brien are top notch boards.  I own the T2000 board and it's a nice ride that's pretty stable.  There's also the aquatic hook on the front which are VERY helpful if you haven't learned how to pull yourself up on the board.

    T2000 - http://www.obrien.com/products_detail.as...

Something that I don't recommend is a board with retractable fins on the bottom.  Once you become comfortable enough on the board and want to venture outside the wake or spin, then these fins are SO much of a problem (at least for me).  If they are all the way down, then you pretty much are forced to go straight.  The turning is exhausting with the fins down.  Then once I put the fins up, it felt like I didn't have as much control like I have on my T2000.

Black Magic (not recommended) - http://www.obrien.com/products_detail.as...

Also, as a beginner if you don't want to choose the T2000, which I personally recommend, then make sure that the tip is, well, a tip.  Don't choose a board with a flat front because those are more advanced boards.

Good luck with learning!  Also, if you have any more questions, then just email me and I'll gladly answer them.

  2. beginning kneeboarding boards can cost from $80-$500 there is no set price, some boards are cheap butbad quality and some are a  whole bunch of money but are very good quality,,

  3. i'd say if you are a beginner the best brand is hydroslide b/c it has a hook that you can attach the rope to when the boat starts puling you. my family has two hydroslide boards and i think we spent $90-$120 on each.

    hope this helps

  4. Doesn't really matter what board you start with.  Just be sure to get one that has indentations for your knees to stay put like this one:

The ones you want to stay away from don't have the indentations and your knees will slide around look like this:

O'Brien makes a good kneeboard, but brand doesn't really matter when you are starting out.
