Knife fighting?

What is the best art for learning knife fighting techniques? What does the military teach? Do all the branches teach the same techniques? I'm an outdoorsman, and I want to learn how to use my Bowie for fighting.

who is going to fight you when you have a bowie knife. you don't need to learn how to fight with a bowie knife.

personally I stand by any Filipino style Escrima, Kali, Bastion, or Arnis the military teaches these syles and others

I train Kyokoshin Karate and practice with many knifes including a Bowie, I think that the Bowie is to heavy and bulky for changing hands. I like lighter knifes with a good blade that that wont break throwing them.

your best bet is to find a school that teaches philipinno martial arts. one of the other posters put up the details go with him.

Martial arts techniques for knife fighting is too complicated to work. Just stab and in very, extremely close range, slice the neck. Simple movements are the best!
