At stumps, on the second day of play between Knights and Warriors, in the ongoing four-day Sunfoil Series match, the former lead by 63 runs with five wickets remaining in their second innings.
On Friday, Warriors resumed play at Chevrolet Park, Bloemfontein, aiming to continue their first innings from an overnight score of 79 for two in reply to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Knights-c805’ first innings score of 268.
However, the batting duo of A Jacobs and AG Prince failed to prosper as the partnership was neutralised by du Preez with 89 runs on the board. The bowler dismissed http://www.senore.com/Cricket/A-W-Jacobs-c41346 for a well played 40.
However, it was not over for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AG-Prince-c949 and V Makhaphela crafted another amazing partnership to take the venom out of the Knights’ bowling attack.
The two batmen led their side towards 109 runs before Siboto trashed the party by bagging the wicket of Prince, who departed after smacking a knock of 37 runs.
Makhaphela and C Jonker then continued the batting onslaught, taking the score to 128, before the latter lost his wicket with only ten runs to his name.
It was then time for wicketkeeper/batsman AP McLaren to come in the middle. This partnership managed to take the score to 171, before Warriors’ fans witnessed the demise of Makhaphela for 35.
McLaren was then next to go, losing his wicket after hammering 25 runs. By this time, Warriors had managed to amass 178 runs on the scoreboard.
With the situation looking a bit gloomy for the batting side, SR Harmer and ACR Birch pulled off an astounding partnership to take the score to 237.
With Harmer jabbing a half century, Warriors ended their innings with 281 runs on the board.
Knights then had a terrible start to their second innings, losing three wickets with only 11 runs on the board.

Knights ended the day with 76 runs on the board as D Elgar was unbeaten on 28 and P Botha on 14.
