Question:

Knitting Help?!?

I've been thinking about Christmas presents for my family. I want to think about them early so that I have enough time to knit them. I need gifts for: my 51 year old aunt, my 45 year old father, and my 54 year old mother. Any ideas? If there is a specific pattern you like, feel free to include it, or a link of it. Thanks. :) I don't have much experience, so try and think of simple, easy things to make.

  1. What about a hat for each of them in their favourite colours?  Have you ever tried mittens? they are fairly simple. You could go with scarves also if you wanted to. Do they read? Perhaps a few knitted bookmarks would be nice.

  2. Yes ,definitely scarves is the way to go if you are not experienced .Something that is easy and a lot of fun that even my 4 year old gran daughter is using ,is the knitting looms .They come in different sizes ,and you can make hats scarves and blanquets , You'll need a 5 ply yarn ,it goes really fast and you can find instructions on line . You can buy these at "Michael's" for just $20 .Have fun

  3. You can make them you mom and aunts hats and gloves and make your dad  a hat.

  4. knitting is awesome i rock at it=P

well, seirously, making scarves for them is really simple and easy and it's a great present. look up instructions online, and start now becasue a 3 ft. scarf takes about 3 hours.

  5. Scarves are always nice und easy to knit. And if you use

neutral colors such as Winter White, anyone can wear them.

If you use a 4-ply yarn, you can use the knit stitch on both sides. It looks good and even sporty.
