Knitting what do i do about the yarn in between the needles?

i have just begun to knit and i'm joining knitting for a cause but i need to know what to do with the yarn in between the needles it always gets caught on a stitch and messes the whole thing up is that supposed to be ther or am i doing something wrong

  2. I'm not sure what's going on w/o actually seeing you knit, but here is a really great site to help: http://www.knittinghelp.com/

    They have allot of videos from casting on the stitches to binding/casting off your stitches (and everything else in between).

    AND you can pause and rewind the video as many times as you need! It's like a live demonstration / personal instruction completely free!
