Knitting yarn question...?

Do I need to use wider needles when using thicker, or 'feathery' yarn.

  1. i would of thought so because the wall is thicker so u want it to contrast really

    unless it is a very thin yarn, then no,

    for a thicker yarn, i will say yes, like asize  9 or 10, maybe even a 10  1/2 or 11.

    for the feathery type u are saying, I would go with a 10- 10  1/2.

  3. If you read the label on your yarn, you will see what size knitting needles are recommended for it.  

    But, when you knit with the yarn, you'll be able to tell if the needles you are using are right for it or not.  Some knitters need to use smaller or larger needles than the ones recommended.

    Generally, a thin yarn works best with thin needles.  And a thick yarn works best with thick needles.
