  9. im not superstitious at all now about wood, ladders et.c., have been all my life till i watched, one of derren browns programs that person that does all the mind tricks, cant remember which show it was..............

    but he explained all that superstition stuff and it's mainly just coincidences

  11. Knocking on wood started during the time of the most ancient cavemen... When they use to knock on a tree to wake it up and remind it that it job was producing fruit...... As for crossing your fingers that originally started started out as holding on to a promise but now crossing your fingers has changed drastically over the centuries....................
