Knockeen Angel prevails in Owners Bonus Series Heat 1
Knockeen Angel bagged her second victory of 2012 on the trot on February 2 by winning the Owners Bonus Series Heat 1 at Oxford greyhound racing track. It was a Grade KS race of 450m category.
The white and black b***h won the race by beating the two joint favourite hounds of the event including Pennys Ava and Roadstown Barr---the 5-2 favourite duo finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
With the odds of 4 to 1, Knockeen Angel turned in a massive effort indeed in the last night’s thriller, as she galvanised a huge upset which none of the bookies could’ve anticipated before the start of the race.
After breaking from trap 5, the N F Carter-trained b***h was fast and furious from the very beginning. She managed to take an early lead, and then sustained her pace till the last moment. Finally, she bridged the distance in 27.38 seconds.
The daughter of Droopys Vieri, out of Knockeen Gypsy has recently got a purple patch after a long losing streak consisting of 13 consecutive defeats. She won her second last race on January 28.
Whelped in March 2009, the b***h made her debut on December 2010. The brilliant b***h has achieved some outstanding victories in her career.
Effernogue Hands finished second in the race after breaking from trap 1. The black and white b***h trailed by 1 ½ lengths. The N Colton-trained hound took 27.50 seconds to reach the finish line. Bred by Kinloch Brae and Effernogue Alice, she was whelped
in September, 2009. The b***h started her career in June, 2011.
The third top finisher in the race was Roller Girl, who broke from trap 6, and completed the distance in 27.58 seconds, trailing by one length. The black b***h is trained by P Clarke.
The fourth spot in the race went to, Greencroft Emma, who finished the race in 27.84 seconds with a big difference of 3 ¼ lengths.
At the end of the race, the winner bagged 1st cash prize worth of £55, while each of the other hounds got £25. By and large, it was a thrilling and amazing competition.
