Knocking sound on 97 CBR 600 F3?

Whats up, so yeah as the title states it sounds like i have an engine knock on my bike. Sometimes its loud sometimes quiet. I almost never hear it at startup but when i ride for a bit and idle at a light if i rev it up a bit i can hear it. Let me know what to do. I am decently mechanically inclined so hopefully ill be able to do this on my own. Thanks

im not there to hear it you say a knock so Im gonna rule out a valve tap, dont know your mileage, but worst case scenario is a rod knock which means you need to do the bottom end
