Knockmant Sky and Neon Lily battle for first place finish in the Grade OR The Race Sponsorship Novice 750
Knockmant Sky is creating a buzz for the Grade OR The Race Sponsorship Novice 750 at Harold’s Cross on 27th March, 2012 as she will be racing a favourite with the odds of 2 to 1. The 750 yard race holds a prize of €255.
The lightly raced b***h, trained by Colgan, lacks experience compared to the other runners, but looks promising nonetheless. The daughter of Ace Hi Rumble, out of Blackstone, will be racing for the first time at Harold’s Cross.
She started her racing career on 27th November, 2010, where she defeated, Slanemore Daist, by a wide margin of 4 ¼ lengths in 35.32 seconds over 600 yards.
After her first victory, she lost composure, as finished last on 18th March, 2011. However, redemption was not far, as she was the evening’s favourite on 7th April, 2011, and won the 656 yard track by
defeating, Gallowstown Fire, by 2 ½ lengths in 34.27 seconds.
Neon Lily, trained by Callery, has the advantage of the familiarity of the track in today’s race, something that will definitely work in her favour. The daughter of Westmead Hawk, out of Tabula Indago, has raced on this track for most of her short
career, with the exception of few races which took place at other venues.
Her career has been promising with several placed finishes to her name. She finished as a runner-up in the Grade A5 The Lucky Last @ The Cross 570 at Harold’s Cross on 6th March, 2012. She entered as the evening’s favourite,
but fell short of the victory by 1 ½ lengths, which was acquired by Rockabilly Meg.
Her finish in fourth place in the Grade A4 The Dobbins@Thecross Dual Distance A4 Semi-Final on 16th March, 2012, was slightly disappointing, but she may be able to pick up her pace in this race and claim a placed finish. She
finished in 31.11 seconds, whereas the winner, Miss Gold Bars, finished in 30.77 seconds.
Trained by Carr, Curryhills Time, may be able to secure a placed position in this race, based on her recent performances and her familiarity with the track. The daughter of Kinloch Brae, out of Patio Rose, finished as a runner-up four times this season,
out of eight races, increasing the likelihood of her ability to claim a finish in second place.
Among the four second place finishes, one of them took place in the Grade A5 Welcome To Harold’s Cross Greyhound Stadium 570 at Harold’s Cross on 9th
March, 2012.
In this race, she has the opportunity to improve as she finished fifth in the Grade A4 The Dobbins@Thecross Dual Distance A4 Semi-final on 16thMarch, 2012, held at the same venue.
Knockmant Sky is the speculated winner for this race, but Neon Lily may pose to be a thorn in her side, whereas Curryhills Time may finish third.
