i was playing with my pug last night and noticed he kept scratching his back. so i pulled him over to me and tried to find what he was scratching at and found this knot on his back. its like, red dots underneath his fur on a knot about the size of a nickel. i can tell its really hurting him.

does anyone know what that is? should i take him to the vet? or what should i do?

  1. play it safe and take it to the vets you never know what it could be.

  2. Yes you should DEFINITELY take him to the vet, this could be a tumor if anything. It needs to be looked at and possibly removed by a professional. Also it could be a bite and an allergic reaction. Either way, he needs to have a nice checkup.

  3. I can't be sure - and nobody can diagnose over the internet, but it sounds like a bite or a sting.  Maybe a bee or a spider.

Taking him to the vet is your call.  If you see more problems or if there's a chance of a severe reaction - then yes.

  4. There are many skin problems that a dog could have & one would have to see it to know.  Besides, it is not right for any of us to diagnose a ailment since we are not vets.

Many of us may know what it is but would have to see it to be sure.  But, then again, we are not Vets.
